Prepare for Your Exam

Follow these pre-exam guidelines ahead of your exam.

Not all patients are scheduled for all procedures outlined below. Please refer to your EHE Appointment Confirmation to review your scheduled procedures.

Before You Arrive

One of the best parts of your EHE exam is that it includes more one-on-one time with your doctor than the standard physical. Use our curated question guides to help shape the conversation with your doctor based on your needs and demographic.

Please be sure to complete the Health Assessment on your myEHE portal. This allows us to gather all the information necessary to offer you a comprehensive experience.

What to Wear

Wear loose, comfortable fitting athletic wear and shoes appropriate for completing the 3-Minute Step Test. You may also change into EHE-provided scrubs if completing the exam at one of seven owned and operated clinics.

What to Expect: Screenings

The EHE Health exam offers 50+ labs and screenings, all tailored according to your needs and risk factors. This includes:

  • Standard measurements, such as vital signs and body composition.
  • Screenings and risk assessments, including an EKG, cardiorespiratory fitness assessment, vision and hearing, and necessary cancer screenings. A pap smear and a breast cancer risk assessment are available as applicable to each patient.
  • Labs, such as lipid panel, complete blood count, and urinalysis.

Additional Recommendations

Come to your exam dressed in whatever makes you feel most comfortable. If completing your exam at one of our seven owned and operated clinics, you may also change into EHE-provided scrubs for extra comfort.

Fasting is not required, but preferred for certain labs. We recommend avoiding a heavy meal and caffeine two hours prior to the exam. We also recommend arriving well hydrated in preparation for your lab draw.

What to Expect: Follow-Ups

Your final report may include recommended screening referrals covered by your EHE Health benefit, such as a screening mammogram, breast ultrasound, coronary calcium CT scan, or colonoscopy. For colonoscopies, follow instructions provided to you directly from the non-EHE facility regarding fasting, medications, or other notes.
