Follow these steps to make sure you have the best physical exam possible.
Not all patients are scheduled for all procedures. Please refer to your EHE Appointment Confirmation to review your scheduled procedures.
Fasting is not required for your exam. We encourage you to drink water prior to your appointment and to continue taking any medication as prescribed by your physician.*
* Diabetic patients: Please cross-check your diabetes medications ANY TIME you are required to fast. Certain medications can drop blood sugar on an empty stomach.
For Men
18-39 Years Old
Laboratory Tests

There is no additional pre-examination prep required. Should your EHE examining physician recommend additional tests, preparation instructions will be provided at that time.
Step Test
On the day of your exam, please avoid caffeine for two
hours before the test. Please avoid exercise or a heavy meal immediately before the test. Wear loose, comfortable fitting athletic wear and shoes appropriate for exercise.
40-64 Years Old

PAP Test
If you are scheduled for this test, it will be indicated in your EHE Appointment Confirmation.
- For best results, this test should be performed one week after completing your menstrual period (results are not reliable if the test is conducted during a menstrual period).
- It is recommended that you abstain from intercourse for 24 hours prior to the exam. If you are currently using any vaginal medications or douches, please consult with your healthcare provider prior to stopping.
40-64 Years Old

If you are scheduled for this test, it will be indicated in your EHE Appointment Confirmation
- If your last mammogram was not done at EHE Health, please bring your most recent film with you. This enables the radiologist to make a comparison study against your current films to identify any subtle changes that may have occurred since your last mammogram. On the day of your mammogram, do not apply any deodorant, perfume, lotion, or talcum powder on your upper body the day of your mammogram.
65+ Years Old
